I think, it is easier to use bipolar-Stepper with driver-chip.
You can config the USB on the 18F4550 as Serial-Com-driver and use a change of arduino-projekt.
In Jedicut you can use the serial-plugin.
The 18F4550 has big usb-buffer for serial-data.

i have make a sample with a dsPic30f4013 with a big ringbuffer in software for the serial-data.
It works fine!
For the performance from the steppermotor, it is better you take a driverchip with onboard pwm, microstep and so on.
Many breakoutbords are in i-net.

Hi, good projekt,
i think a "change arduino-projekt" to a dspPic with 2-UART and usb-ttl cable is from performance better.
Hallo Dario, this can you deleat: "sendMotorCmd(val); // send it a second time, because of timing problems with the mdlcnc" it was a problem by the boaed from Martin. The edge was generate with : sendMotorCmd(val); delayMicroseconds(5);here can you set the delay sendMotorCmd(0); // and tur...

Ernst, you must enable the delay in code "//delayMicroseconds(5);" with deleat the"//" as delayMicroseconds(5) then you can test with other delay-times. The Arduino-code generate a impuls with edge "high to low", but the TB6560 need a impulse with edge "low to high...

Hallo Ernst, it is possible, that the "Step-Impuls-time" is to short for the TB6560. You can test it with a larger value for the delay, befor set the "Step-Impuls" to low in arduino-code. Here the code: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ void handleComm...

When you move manual the axis x or y with a value 250mm , the axis must drive 250mm. You can test it and maesure the distance. Is the distance not correct, you must change in Jedicut the value for "nb mm/pas". You can make a simple projekt with one rectangle as airfoil and symetric for the...
