What software have you been using with your TB6560 (4-axis hotwire CNC configuration) ?

I have Mach3 and Profili2 basic version. My CNC Machine is under construction at the moment, but I want to be ready to go on the software front, some bench testing done so far with Mach3 only.

Profili2 looks fine for a complete airfoli, but I would like to do some more complex cuts without having to move my foam block (Stacked partial airfoils with the rear cut to a taper for elevons and the LE done seperate from other foam, also fuselages).

GMFC can stack airfoils etc, but I don't know if GMFC will work on my TB6560 board?

Hi Dan,

the TB6560 4axis cnc board works great! Post this in a other forum.

I am also working on a hot wire foarm cutter. I will cutting wings and complete RC modells (Depron and epp)
The Software I will use is GMFC, Jedicut (timer needed) CNCworkbench and Mach3 with cut2g.
Last week I finished my electonic components.
I use a 4 axis TB 6560 driver board, with 4 Bipolar Minebea 17 Stepper-motors.
I made a small modification on the driver board, I changed the 8 resistors for 0,8 amp phase.
For the heat controll I use a modified ver. from the BB2001. The two switches are for heat on/off and man/pc and
the poti is for manuall temp.. The timer for GMFC or Jedicut is also includet, but I can also use a external
timer modul for example with a NE555. I have all tested and all works ok with GMFC, Jedicut and Mach3.

Rick regardless of software used you will need to make a new cable. All the software I have found todate uses pinss 2-9 for control. That is not direcly compatible with this board. So I take the pins out and switch the wires to the pins the board needs to make it work.

So far the best one I have used for cutting using a controller without a timer is from www.stealthplaneworks.com. It is buggy but cuts really well once you learn the interface. Jedicut will work if you make a timer. I have bought all the parts to make the timer and it cost me like $6 USD. But now I don't think I need it. Jedicut looks to have some really good features in it. The only reason I am not going to use it is that the other one auto calculates and compensates for the kerf once you calibrate your tool and foam. I cut short highly tapered outer panels and that feature really comes in handy.

Working with a coworker to make a new one. He can program great but can't fly well. Code for replacement wings sounds like a great trade to me.

Hello,

After many years cutting foam with templates i decided to make my own cutter. I don't understand much. Bought the electronics and now these days its all simple clicking the components together i thought. Wrong!!!
Bought the 4 axis driverboard Toshiba TB6560, powersupply and 4 Nema 23 steppermotors. With the package came a printer cable.

At first i wanted to use GMFC but as far as i understand this is not possible with this board. So the best option for cutting wings is jedicut.
I dont get it working. All those assignments of pins and cable-regonfigs :(

Pease, please please can someone teel me what the pin layout in the parallel cable is and wich assignment i have to make in Jedicut.

I have got the TB6560 to work with Jedicut using Visualcnc_xp no timer to pin 10 on PC.

The settings on the TB6560 board are: current 50% Decay Mode Settings 50% MicroSettings 0.5 ( 0.0025 ).
My cutter is working but I can not change the speed.

For example Nb mm/sec 0.0025 (for correct distance travel)

Settings Cut Speed 2 (2.5 mm/s) 20 seconds to cover 100mm in manual mode
Fast speed 1 (3.3 mm/s) 20 seconds to cover 100mm in manual mode

Cut speed 10 (0.83 mm/s) 20 seconds to cover 100mm in manual mode
Fast speed 5 (1.43 mm/s) 20 seconds to cover 100mm in manual mode

If I use the smooth setting all of the timings above go to 36 seconds for 100 mm travel

When in auto cut the travel times vary from fast to very slow and will not change with cut and fast speed settings
I have used a timer on pin 10 to the Pc but it made no difference.
The machine I have made is usable and I have already cut some nice wings.

Thank you Jerome for all the time and effort you have put into this programme.
