i'd like to build a hot wire cutter based on lego mindstorm Ev3..

there is a way to interface jedicut to mindstorm?
Can i create a driver or a plugin to receive command by jedicut and move lego motors with mindstorm?

Or I've to write another sort of parser for g-code commands?

What kind of link do you have on lego mindstorm ? usb,serial, parallel port ?

There is many plugin of communication but actually Jedicut don't generate g-code.

Does Lego mindstorm use g-code ?

It's all to built from scratch!

My idea is:

First: i have to construct the hardware (I think of two towers with the hot wire attached on that move on two rails (2 axis for now)
something like this:

Second: i'd like to instruct mindstorm (java programmming on linux system) to communicate with jedicut

Third: jedicut sends signal to mindstorm and mindstorm sends signal to its sensors motors (and then feedback jedicut)!

Is it possible? It's very ambicious project? Can you help me?

PS: lego mindstorm can communicate via usb or wifi

Sorry I don't have many time :/

You can try to program a new plugin of communication for Jedicut and lego mindstorm. Your plugin have to use usb connection or wifi. It's a very interesting project

Jedicut's plugin are open source so you can look at it as sample !
